Exclusive safari lodge
A private lodge in a beautiful setting for you and your family to enjoy. Nestled in the heart of the Kent countryside, this exclusive lodge provides the perfect accommodation for you and your family. Take in everything the local area has to offer, from great food and local wines and beers, to tourist attractions such as the Kent and East Sussex Railway in Tenterden, and our local Woodchurch Windmill.
Enjoy peace and quiet in comfort
Take time out from everyday life and get back to nature for as long as you like, reboot and recharge your own batteries. But you can expect a touch of luxury when you come 'glamping' with us, including a solar-powered fridge, solar-powered lighting, the ability to recharge your mobiles and tablets, plus added extras such as bed linen, towels, bath robes and even champagne flutes for those who prefer to pass the time sipping something with bubbles while enjoying the breathtaking countryside views.
Pet Friendly
Bring your four-legged friends with you, they are welcome too - and you can enjoy fabulous walks nearby. Just go five minutes up the road from the lodge and you can walk for nearly three hours through open country while only having to venture onto roads for around 10 minutes in total.
Amazing surroundings
Enjoy a tranquil stay in the Kent countryside in a private lodge with no other campers to bother you. Make the most of the beautiful surroundings to do everything from bird watching on the Romney Marsh to playing golf on one of five local courses.
Birds regularly seen near the lodge include:
- Great Spotted Woodpecker
- European Green Woodpecker
- Nuthatch
- Heron
- Kestrels
- Buzzards
- On spring and summer evenings you can often be treated to a serenade from a Nightingale.
Other wildlife:
- Deer
- Dragonflies (mid-to-late summer)
- Squirrels
Or if you feel like something more energetic you can take a cycle ride around the lanes nearby, either exploring on your own or as a guided cycle ride with Liz or Ali. You can also lock your bikes away while you stay.
Luxurious amenities
Relax and unwind in the peace and quiet of your own lodge, with towels, bed linen and bathrobes provided for your convenience. You have your own private garden, private parking, toilet and shower facilities just a short step outside the lodge, plus a BBQ so you can cook up a veritable storm if you want to.
For those who like the high life, you will find champagne flutes alongside wine glasses so you can indulge as much or as little as you wish. As the lodge is pet friendly, you can also have dog bowls provided for both food and water if you desire.
There is solar-powered lighting and a fridge for your convenience, and you also have the option of charging phones, tablets and laptops while you stay too.
If you are travelling a long way and prefer to have the basics provided when you get here, please just choose the option for a welcome pack when you are booking, and you will have bread, milk, eggs, locally-sourced bacon and butter waiting for you when you arrive.
Delicious food
Spend time making your own delicious food with the lodge’s four-ring gas hob, break out the BBQ, or if you fancy heading out for food, then check out our local pubs within a couple of miles. The Kings Head in Shadoxhurst is also offering guests who stay a 10% discount on their meals if you let them know you are staying at the safari lodge.
Or you can try one of Woodchurch’s two pubs – The Six Bells, known for its beer festivals on many weekends in the summer, or the Bonny Cravat. On some summer evenings you can watch Morris Dancers there too.
If you want to go further afield for your culinary delights then Tenterden just seven miles away offers a wide array of restaurants offering Indian, Turkish, Italian and traditional British fayre. You can also get excellent fish and chips there, or if you prefer you can head down to the beach at Hythe and enjoy fish and chips by the sea as you watch the sun go down.
